Susie Cochran absolutely loves creating art. Her first exposure to watercolor was in the second grade in Wisconsin. She was amazed at the excitement she felt while opening her first box of Prang watercolors. She remembers the 8 wells of bright color! What fun to mix them and discover a thousand new colors.

Art classes at the University of Arizona, Tucson Art Institute and the Museum of Art widened her horizons for using many varied mediums. She has painted with oils, and then acrylics but always returned to watercolor as her favorite. She moved to Oracle in 1970 with her husband and two children.

Susie has taught drawing classes for children and enjoys working with people of all ages. Young and old have learned to pull a pot on her pottery wheel in her studio at her home. Beargrass basket making has surprised many and she shares her self taught knowledge about preparing the materials too.

Well what could tempt her next? A friend presented her with his woodworking tools and another friend is using a spindle to make skeins of yarn from local sheep's and goat's wool. A little weaving adventure is sure to follow.
